Avi Shankar Ain is a visual artist, holds a B.F.A. in Drawing and Painting from the University of Dhaka and an M.F.A. in Painting from Kala-Bhavana, Visva-Bharati University,

Santiniketan.

With nearly 25 years of artistic engagement, Ain’s practice has gradually moved from observation toward a more intuitive and expressive form of abstraction. Working primarily in oil and acrylic, he explores landscapes through colour, texture, light, and movement, transforming familiar scenes into atmospheric and emotional experiences.

Inspired by the changing landscapes and seasons of South Asia, Ain seeks to capture their atmosphere and fleeting moods, inviting viewers to experience nature through sensation, memory, and emotion.
