Honoring Artist Mustafa Monwar

On occasion of the 14th anniversary of Shilpoprobha, SPBA organized a felicitation ceremony in honour of eminent artist Mustafa Monwar at EDGE Gallery, Dhaka. A distinguished painter, illustrator, television personality, and cultural figure, Mustafa Monwar has made significant contributions to the advancement of art and culture in Bangladesh. The event brought together artists, art organizers, critics, and cultural personalities from across the country to celebrate his enduring legacy and remarkable contribution to the nation's artistic landscape.

Proyash Art Auction and Exhibition

The 50 Artworks created by the Students of Proyash were auctioned by SPBA at a special event. The Auction was attended by Art Collectors, Galleries, Diplomats and Artists. All 50 Artworks were sold and proceeds from the Sale were given to the Students along with a Certificate. Each of the participating Students took a lot of Pride and Joy with their performance.

The Parents of the Students sincerely appreciated the effort put into this by SPBA. This event was fully supported by Maasranga Television.

Proyash focuses on the education of Children with special Needs. The Art Workshop was specifically designed by SPBA to inspire the students of Proyash to encourage and inspire these special needs Children that they too can create beautiful Artworks.

Approximately 40 special needs students took part in the program. To inspire them SPBA invited eminent Artists of Bangladesh to participate in the Workshop to inspire, encourage and give confident to these Students to be able to express themselves on Paper and canvas.

The program combined hands-on workshop where students and artists worked together. A total of around 50 artworks were created by these special needs students.

Shiro Sadoshima – Solo Exhibition - The Remembrance of a Country

Shiro Sadoshima, then Ambassador of Japan to Bangladesh, had an intense love for the art, culture, and people of Bangladesh. This exhibition reflects his artistic engagement with the country through a personal visual diary of color, his interaction with Bengali People, landscape and memories of his stay in Bangladesh.

While serving in Bangladesh as the Ambassador of Japan, he developed a deep passion for creating art. He began painting during his time in Bangladesh and gradually developed a distinctive style showcasing vibrant colors and the realities of everyday life.

Using watercolor and mixed media, his artworks capture everyday life, landscapes, and human presence, translating life experiences into expressive forms in his Artwork. The series reflects his discovery of Bangladesh as a country rich in history and heritage.

First Art Auction of Bangladesh

The first Auction featuring selected works by twenty-five Bangladeshi Artists brought together collectors, patrons, artists, and art enthusiasts for an evening of celebration and enthusiasm.

As the first formal auction of Bangladeshi art, the event marked a significant milestone in the evolution of the country’s art market.

The Auction was inaugurated by the then Finance Minister of the Govt. of Bangladesh and supported by the Square Group and MTB Bank Ltd.

Honoring Artist Monirul Islam

A special reception was held in honor of renowned Bangladeshi artist Monirul Islam following his investiture as Officer of the Order of Queen Isabella, one of Spain's distinguished civilian honors.

His Excellency Arturo Manuel Pérez Martínez, Ambassador of Spain to Bangladesh, attended the reception as the Chief Guest. Artists, cultural personalities, diplomats, and distinguished guests gathered to pay tribute to one of Bangladesh's most influential artists.

Art Exhibition in Aid of the Flood-Affected People

Presented by the Society for Promotion of Bangladeshi Art, this exhibition was organized in response to the devastating floods that affected large parts of Bangladesh in 2004. The exhibition brought together artists and supporters in a collective humanitarian initiative, using art as a means of solidarity, cultural engagement, and public support during a time of national crisis.
