Bangladesh Art: A Collection of Contemporary Paintings
Bangladesh Art: Collection of Contemporary Paintings stands as the very first undertaking of SPBA. Till today it remains the Flagship project of SPBA.
The objective of this Book was to present Bangladeshi Art to the world while providing a historical perspective to Bangladeshi’s on how Art developed in Bangladesh.
Foreign visitors often expressed admiration for the depth, originality and passion evident in the works of Bangladeshi artists. Much of this remained largely unknown beyond the country’s borders. SPBA undertook this ambitious project to bridge that gap and to provide a comprehensive visual record of the evolution of painting in Bangladesh.
Beginning with the works of Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin, the Father of modern art in Bangladesh, the book traces the growth of successive generations of artists recording the growth and transformation of modern and contemporary Art in Bangladesh. The book is considered to be the Encyclopedia of Bangladesh Art.
