Launching SHILPOPROBHA: SPBA's Quarterly Art Magazine
The launch of SHILPOPROBHA, the quarterly art magazine of SPBA, was held on 31st August 2012 as part of SPBA's ongoing commitment to research, documentation, and the promotion of Bangladeshi art.
Acclaimed writer Syed Shamsul Haque attended the event as the Chief Guest.
Book Launching —KIBRIA
The official launching ceremony of KIBRIA, the first Book ever published dedicated to the life and works of the Pioneer of the Modernism movement, Artist Mohammad Kibria. The book demonstrates Kibria’s enduring contribution to the development of modern art in Bangladesh and his influential role in advancing abstraction within South Asian art practice.
The uniqueness of KIBRIA is every aspect of the Book was under the direct supervision of the Artist himself. From the Size, Cover design, the layout, the text, the selection of Artworks reproduced. The Book is a 242 pages hard Cover book with 176 full colour reproductions of Kibria’s artworks selected personally by the Artist.
The programme was inaugurated by the then Chief Adviser, Dr Fakhruddin Ahmed. The program included a video presentation on the Book and the unveiling of the first copy of the book. The ceremony also featured remarks by eminent artist and a close friend of Kibria, Qayyum Choudhury, and representatives of the organizing and sponsoring institutions.
Book Launching — Bangladesh Art — Delhi
Bangladesh Art: A Collection of Contemporary Paintings was launched in New Delhi, India, in January 2007. The event introduced the Book to a wider international audience and served as a platform for cultural exchange between Bangladesh and India. Bringing together artists, academics, diplomats, and art enthusiasts, the launch further strengthened the visibility and appreciation of Bangladeshi art beyond national borders.
The then former Prime Minister of India, Mr. I.K. Gujral, inaugurated the Book launching as the Chief Guest.

The launch of Bangladesh Art: A Collection of Contemporary Paintings was the launch of the first ever comprehensive Book on Bangladesh Art. This extraordinary Publication serves as an Encyclopedia of Bangladesh Art becoming one of the most significant references on Bangladeshi art.
The launching ceremony was attended by Cabinet Ministers, Diplomats, Businessmen, Cultural personalities, Artists, Collectors and Art enthusiasts.
