After completing her BFA in 1977 in Painting & Drawing from the Institute of Fine Arts, Kuhu went on to obtain her MFA in 1981 from the Institute of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka.
Some of her selected Exhibition includes Shades of Life, Bengal Gallery of Fine Arts, Dhaka, The Making of Kuhu Art at Gallery Chitrak, Dhaka, the Making of Kuhu Art 2 at the Radius Centre in Dhaka, a Solo Exhibiton at the Edge Gallery and the Nomad Centre for Fine Art, Islamabad, Pakistan.
The influence of Kuhu’s Paintings are seen in her works on textiles as well.
Working closely with weavers she has created a unique artistic style on textiles which Kuhu has aptly named as Wearable Art. The lily and Rajanigondha being the most common motifs.
She is particularly inspired by architecture of local mosques – minarets ,the stars and the moon for her inspiration.
