Ruposhree Hajong is a Bangladeshi Indigenous visual artist and researcher whose practice explores the cultural memory, material traditions, and lived experiences of the Hajong community. Born in the Garo Hills of Netrokona, she works across painting and installation, drawing on weaving patterns, Indigenous motifs, nature, oral narratives, women’s experiences, and ecological relationships.
Her practice reinterprets inherited cultural forms through a contemporary visual language, exploring identity, memory, heritage, and the preservation of Indigenous knowledge.
She holds a BFA and MFA in Drawing and Painting from Jahangirnagar University. In 2026, Hajong was selected as one of eight finalists for the Samdani Art Award, presenting her weaving-based installation The Story of Hajong Tale at Kunsthalle Basel, Switzerland. Her recent international engagements include the 12th Geoje International Art Exhibition in South
Korea and an art camp in Bhutan organized by Architecture Rafiq Azam and the Society for
